Guru Sri. Tiruvarur Vaidyanathan
A Small Glimpse...
Hailing from a rich musical lineage, Sri Vaidyanathan emerged as a renowned Mridanga Vidwan and established himself a unique identity in the field of South Indian Carnatic classical music. As an amateur, he was under the tutelage of his grandfather Tiruvarur Sri Kunju Iyer and his uncle Tiruvarur Sri Nagarajan. Unceasing musical ambience, traditional paadanthram, meticulous training, disciplined practice and the never ending urge to excel perfectly set up the ascent
of Sri Vaidyanathan on to the pedestals of glory. As a student with immense potential and great appetite for knowledge, he had the privilege of getting advanced training under legendary Mridangam maestro Guru Sri. Kaaraikudi R. Mani.
Across generations, he has embellished the concerts of many stalwarts and vidwans including Dr.M.Balamurali Krishna, Maharajapuram Santhanam, K.V.Narayanaswamy, D.K.Pattamal, M.L.VasanthaKumari, T.N.Krishnan, U.Srinivas, K.J.Yesudas, Ravikiran, Sudha Raghunathan, Aruna Sairam and host of other musicians. His priority to strive for the team success more than showcasing his individual skill earned him rave testimonies from the musicians he has played for and helped him being their first choice for decades together. An exalted blend of his traditional bani and own creativity set up the perfect launch pad for the evolution of a style of his own. Tonal clarity in presentation, flawless technique, strict adherence to the sahithya bhavam and expertise in subtle laya intricacies form the ingredients of his inimitable repertoire that cuts across geographical divides.
